“We shall devote ourselves whole-heartedly to prayer and the ministry of the Word.” Acts 6:4 Phillips Solomon warned, “Through lowering of hands, the house leaks.” (Eccl. 10:18 Masoretic Text, emphasis mine) This slackness applies not only to our physical house but to our spiritual house as well. According to the definitions,
Marry a whore. Keep her as your wife. She will betray you continuously, but you must love her and never leave her. You will be rejected continuously. You will be seen as a fool. Your life will be painful. Your reputation challenged. You will need to trust me. You will
Here in Western New York, the weather is pretty predictable and we typically enjoy four different seasons of equal duration. It’s comforting knowing that winter changes to spring, spring to summer, summer to fall, and so on. Summer is my favorite season and I try to enjoy it to the
It’s been said, “God is a good checker player…He never moves out of turn!” And I have found that to be true! God wants us to covenant with Him. He does His part, and we do our part. Then He does His part, and we do ours. And so forth,
By Laurie L. Webb – Listen! This is an action word! To listen, you must actively make a point of inclining your ear towards the object you are listening to. You can hear something but not listen to it. Just ask any parent! How many times do you say to
“The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God, the Rock, my Savior! He is the God who avenges me, who puts the nations under me, who sets me free from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from violent men you rescued me. Therefore I will
“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil.” -Matthew 4:1, NLT There is something so powerful about being stopped in your tracks by the Word of God. It has happened to me countless times over the years, yet I never tire
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who enters their Amazon shopping through the Amazon Widget on my sidebar. This story could not have happened without you. For years now I have mocked and scoffed at the Kindle. I love real books… their feel, their scent, the way
“I will exalt you, O LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. O LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me. O LORD, you brought me up from the grave; you spared me from
Sipping on my bouquet… I sat in my favorite chair where I meet with the Lord often and receive many answers, knowing I needed to hear clearly from Him regarding my upcoming trip, I said, “Lord, I need a clear word for India!” As I opened my heart to receive
By Laurie L. Webb – Why is it the first step is always the hardest? At least, that’s what everyone says. Whenever you have a new direction you want to go, it seems the first step is almost impossible. Oh sure, we are quick to give others advice, “come on,
“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Matthew 14:30-31 Have you ever gone sailing? I have. I went sailing today,
“It was noised that [Jesus] was in the house.” (Mark 2:1 KJV) Traveling about preaching the Good News, Jesus made a trip to Capernaum, as He needed a place to stay, for He had no place to lay His head. (Matt. 8:20 NIV) The people heard that he had come
