Summer may have come to a close, but we all could use a little more R&R. While international travel may be off the table at this time, American travelers are turning to domestic trips to get away from it all this fall.

According to the Tripadvisor Fall Travel Index, nearly two-thirds of all domestic travelers are planning a getaway this autumn, and of those travelers, 79% were planning an October trip – the busiest fall travel month.

To avoid the crowds, adventures in the great outdoors, which have gained popularity since the beginning of the pandemic. 61% of U.S. travelers are more likely to consider outdoor or nature trips and more than half are more likely to consider road trips now, compared to before the pandemic.

Savannah, GA
