Daily Devotional – Warning to Us All

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from James 5: 1-6. Where we place our faith speaks to our hearts. So many will tell us that they are not religious or spiritual, but they still have faith. Their faith is placed in themselves or things of this world.

Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.[a] You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.”

We all have faith, it just depends on where

Jesus gave us parables and warned us of the trappings of this world. The financial rewards may be high, or they may be relatively small. Is your faith found on earthly things or other people? Jesus called us to attach ourselves to Him and the Father and not the things and people of this world.

fall scents for your home

In all that we do, we need to ask that famous saying, “What Would Jesus Do?” Would Jesus sacrifice those around Him for His own self-benefit? Jesus hears the cries and prayers of all. When you call on the name of Jesus, you are guaranteed to be saved. You and I may not be saved according to our earthly timelines and our expectations. God our savior and redeemer will bring justice.

Have you ever considered how we place faith and trust in each other each day? Just the simple process of buying anything online. We pay the company selling the product, trusting that they will deliver the product purchased. My faith is in their delivery. I’m sure that you like many others have had a poor experience with some untrustworthy people and businesses. If we do, we then retreat to a more trustworthy company for the things and products needed.

We will always find our faith in earthly possessions and people will leave you hurt and burnt. Let us use the same faith and place it in a more secure and trustworthy recipient. God will never disappoint!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, God, that You have given us each the ability to trust and have faith. I often misplace this trust and faith, I retreat to You. I choose to place my hope, trust, and faith in You today!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
