Daily Devotional – The Reward for Hope

daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 40 Isaiah 28-31. It is easy for us to place hope in our own plans. Thinking about the plans and desires that we have, we can become hopeful of a future that we desire.

“Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Whose future do you hope for?

I recall how I recently was making plans. I was planning on a vacation and the exciting activities that fill my days. The more that I planned the vacation and the closer that the time drew near, the the anticipation, hope and excitement grew.

As we make plans for our lives, it becomes easy for us to place hope in these self made plans.

God calls us to not place our hope in ourselves and our plans, but rather in His plans. As we place our hope and rely on His involvement in all the areas of our lives we  can anticipate a reward. Our reward for placing our hope in our Lord is soaring like eagles with a strength will not dwindle.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

gifts or mom

You are my hope and I place my trust into You and Your plans. Reward my hope and faith with Your strength and provision!

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
