Daily Devotional – Peace That Transcends All

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 4 Philippians 4-9. When we face the various challenges and turbulent times in our lives, finding rest can seem impossible. The peace of God overcomes all the fears helps us when all we can see is failure.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.“

The God of peace with with us.

Like an itch, we tend to continue to ponder over the fears and potential consequences. As we focus on our fears, they grow and and continue to overtake our emotions and strip our peaceful state.

We all desire a peaceful and calm life. In an ideal world we would all have all that we need and comfortably live in peace. Life though is turbulent and filled with ups and downs.

To find peace we need to change our perspective and focus. We need to focus on God, who He is and His fruit.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father, 

Thank you that when I focus on You that You get larger in my life. As I focus on You today and practice Your laws and ways, may You be with me, filling me with Your peace.
