Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Genesis 1:1-8. Our understanding and beliefs about the creation of our earth and universe is foundational to our faith. If our faith is not built on the truth, then everything else will crumble.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.”
God created the earth and all that is within it.
God took nothing and created all that we know to be. Before there was anything God was there. Many people are accused of thinking that the world revolves around them, but we know that this is just not possibly true.
I do know who holds the earth and who first every last atom in place, it was the Almighty God. There is much debate between those that believe that God did create the earth and how He did it.
When we follow the word of God, we are told that the first thing that God created was light. I believe that the light came as a result of God being present since God is light. As God enters the space, He will be active and creative, and He will do it in the light.

Dear Father,
Thank you Father that You created the whole earth and all that is within it. You created every creature including me, but thank You for creating me in Your image.
