Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Genesis 1:14-19. God has numbered the multitude of hairs on your head, just as He has numbered the stars in the sky. The stars that you and I can see, and even the ones that we can not!
“And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.”
God is the light of the universe!
From the beginning, God created the seasons and timing of events and calendars. The one who created the world and the universe had a plan from the beginning and orchestrated everything with every detail.

God placed our earth in the perfect location of the sun and at the perfect angle. Close enough to provide heat to sustain our lives, yet far enough to allow for a winter season. It would sustain life, but the most important job is to point toward the light of the world.
When we follow the word of God, we are told to follow the example of our savior and be the light of the world. We are to be like the moon in reflecting the light from God so that all that see us will glorify and exalt the King of all kings.

Dear Father,
Thank you Father that You have perfectly placed the sun and stars into the sky. In the same way, You have perfectly made me and I ask that You be my source today.
