Daily Devotional – The Foundation of Our Faith 16

Daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Genesis 3:13-15. Very few people will look you in the eyes and receive the consequences of their actions. The fruit of sin is self-preservation at the expense of others.

“Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,

“Cursed are you above all livestock
    and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
    and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring[a] and hers;
he will crush[b] your head,
and you will strike his heel.”

Do you accept responsibility?

Have you ever been forced to face fire? As someone that has strictly lived according to the laws and rules, I feel awful when someone confronts me about an issue. While it is uncomfortable at the moment, tackling the accusation head-on brings forth greater benefits.

Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of their choices. Looking to divert the responsibility will not be possible even if it may seem to be a possibility initially.

When we follow the word of God, we see how God judges with cursing and consequences. The snake and the humans have lived a life at odds from this time onward.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that You give us guidance and leadership. Give me the strength to face situations and consequences in my life today.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
