Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 3:1-8. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Consider today what you are being filled by?
“Come near me and listen to this:
“From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret;
at the time it happens, I am there.”

And now the Sovereign Lord has sent me,
endowed with his Spirit.
17 This is what the Lord says—
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go.
18 If only you had paid attention to my commands,
your peace would have been like a river,
your well-being like the waves of the sea.
19 Your descendants would have been like the sand,
your children like its numberless grains;
their name would never be blotted out
nor destroyed from before me.”
Each one of us desires to live a life of fullness
The allure of comfort and ease is all to easy to fall for. Children have very little perspective and so they just think that their dreams will be fulfilled and seen.
In the same way that parents care for their children, parents supply all the needs. Without too many requests, parents have overcome all barriers to provide. With everything so easily provided, children can so easily become expectant and entitled.
We are called to hunger for…
Let us fuel the hunger that we have for God our Father and His ways. Rather than surrendering to the easy ways offered by this world, let us look for the sacrifice to build our hunger. God will fill us and reward our disciplined actions.

Dear Father,
Thank you that you have promised to fulfill the need and quench the thirst that I have for You and Your ways. Strengthen me as I remember that perseverance builds character and an appetite for You!
