Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 3:1-8. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Instead of striving and fighting through life for what we want, humbling ourselves before the will of God will keep us in His will and way.
“Lord, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!
2 Many are saying of me,
“God will not deliver him.”[b]
3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
4 I call out to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain.

5 I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
6 I will not fear though tens of thousands

break the teeth of the wicked.
8 From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.”
God has set the inheritance before us
How much of our lives are lived within our own strength and determination. Numb to the reality, we have never known any other way. We have convinced ourselves that God is blessing the one that strives for perfection.
I am all for excellence. Excellence comes from a spirit of love and sacrifice. There is nothing worse than having others put in half an effort and not care. When our effort level is maxed because of our commitment, excellence will follow. It is impossible to not give excellence in something we are passionate about.
Perfection comes from a spirit of self-righteousness.
Let us put in the effort today so that we are where God wants us to be. He can move in our lives today if our attitude and love barometer are at the optimal level.

Dear Father,
Thank you that you gave it all for me. You did not even spare Your son to redeem me. I surrender to You today. I am fully committed to give my best and follow Your lead!
