Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Jeremiah 17: 13-18. Have you ever experienced sickness or devastation so debilitating that fear, panic, and dread threatened your very existence?
“Lord, you are the hope of Israel;
all who forsake you will be put to shame.
Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust
because they have forsaken the Lord,
the spring of living water.
14 Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;
save me and I will be saved,
for you are the one I praise.
15 They keep saying to me,
“Where is the word of the Lord?
Let it now be fulfilled!”
16 I have not run away from being your shepherd;
you know I have not desired the day of despair.
What passes my lips is open before you.
17 Do not be a terror to me;
you are my refuge in the day of disaster.
18 Let my persecutors be put to shame,
but keep me from shame;
let them be terrified,
but keep me from terror.
Bring on them the day of disaster;
destroy them with double destruction.”

In times of overwhelming weakness, remember to rehearse God’s word with the diligence of heart. Cry out to Him from the depths of your soul, rehearsing the words of Jeremiah 17, “Heal me, Lord! Save Me, Lord! You are my praise!”
God’s word heals. God’s word saves. God’s word “is the power” behind our praise!
It’s wonderful to know that a weary soul can find refreshment from the river of life flowing out of God’s throne of glory. God’s ever-flowing spring produces Living Water and our Bible contains this life-giving sustenance. Promises from God’s word are surer than any dis-ease, dysfunction, or devastating force of darkness that tries to steal our peace.
God sees those who dare to praise Him in the midst of pain. He hears the cries of the weak who pray the oracles of His will. The Lord is faithful to perform His promises when His children cry out to Him with clean hands and a pure heart. His mighty right hand is the glory and lifter of our head when we release the prayer of faith that sends a sweet-smelling aroma to the throne of grace.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for healing me, saving me, and being my praise. Lord, I declare that you are faithful to perform your word when I seek you with my whole heart. I am seeking you now with a broken and contrite heart, asking for your healing touch to set me free.
