Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 41: 8-13. God is in control of the very situation that you find yourself in right now. Nothing about it has taken Him by surprise and off guard and so you can rest.
“But you, Israel, my servant,
Jacob, whom I have chosen,
you descendants of Abraham my friend,
9 I took you from the ends of the earth,
from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, ‘You are my servant’;
I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
11 “All who rage against you
will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
will be as nothing and perish.
12 Though you search for your enemies,
you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
will be as nothing at all.
13 For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.”

God has instructed us through the prophet Isaiah here in verse 10 to “not fear, for I am with you”. I recall as a child being fearful of the dark. Waking in the middle of the night came with the numerous fears that would be stoked by my imagination and fears. Turning on the light would dispell the eerie shadows and my confidence would be reassured.
Jesus is the light of the world. When we are fearful we need to shine His light on the situation. Shine His light by welcoming His presence and His word to your life and location. With His light now removing the fears, we can be more confident and clear-minded. We can be encouraged to continue the good fight because God is not only in our corner, but He is in the ring fighting for us.
Stand before your challenges, situations, and decisions with a soul at rest. God’s light is all around you and shining ever so bright. We don’t need to wonder if, but we can know for sure! God has everything under control and is not worried Himself. Stand firm because of who your faith is in!

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for shining your light into my life. Your light has removed the fears that I have held in the past. Your light has shown that my previous fears were not as bad and ugly as I thought and that You are greater than all that I may see around me.
