Daily Devotional – In The Hands of God

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 41:8-13. God has reached out to you and I in every corner of the globe. He has reached out to draw us closer and into His bosom to care and love on us.

“But you, Israel, my servant,
    Jacob, whom I have chosen,
    you descendants of Abraham my friend,
I took you from the ends of the earth,
    from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, ‘You are my servant’;
    I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

11 “All who rage against you
    will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
    will be as nothing and perish.
12 Though you search for your enemies,
    you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
    will be as nothing at all.
13 For I am the Lord your God
    who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
    I will help you.”

God holds our lives within His hands

God tells us not to fear all that threatens us from outside. As we rest tightly within the grip of our Father, nothing that may attempt to harm us will prevail. We will be safe because the one that loves us more than we could ever imagine is the one protecting us.

It is hard to shine the light of God when you are being attacked from every direction. Your Father has promised us though that He will give us strength and uphold us. With the hands of God surrounding us, we can take a deep breath and not live in fear.

We can stand tall and confident with the strength of God, without reacting to every word and action from the world. We can lead by breaking the destructive cycle, loving instead of responding with hate and malice.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that You have picked me up and held me securely within Your grasp. Help me to throw off the bondages and chains that have attached themselves to me.

In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
