Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Genesis 31:8-15. Who are we that the Almighty Lord and God of all the universes is looking out for us, waiting for us to draw nearer? What worth do we have that justifies this intense attention?
“Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”
12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,
We are created in His own image
One of the names that Jesus was given was “Emmanuel” which means God is with us. At the right time, Jesus was born to the virgin Mary to live among those that He loved and created. God had craved intimacy with His creation for so many years, and now He got to be one with them.
It started from the beginning when God used to be with Adam and Eve. It must have been phenomenal to have that physical representation of the Almighty.
If you have ever felt rejected, lonely, or alone, remember that your creator is longing to be with you. Our Father still craves a relationship with each of us similar to what He had created from the outset.
Let us not remember today that God desires to be with us. He is Emmanuel and He is seeking us out, all we need to do is turn to Him today to be held and loved by our Father.

Dear Father,
Thank you Father that You have created me in Your image and that You love to have me in Your presence. Help me today to know that You are with me in every situation.
