Daily Devotional – How We Live

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Colossians 3:18-25. Life is not about whom you know, or what you do. Life is about you have lived your life and whether you have been able to stand firm in all situations.

“Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

21 Fathers,[c] do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.”

Do everything as unto your Father

Often when I have had a day filled with frustration and disappointments, turning up the music and surrendering to the relaxing beat is great for the soul. If you are like me, you are so often trodden down by those that you are called to love.

Love is a cycle, when it flows it works as God intended it to. So often people because of their previous pains or failures withhold love, breaking the cycle. The broken cycle quickly becomes destructive and hurts everyone. Those that we combat are ultimately retaliating against the pain inflicted by others.

Let us live a life of splendor and abundance living in the moment. Don’t put off the opportunity to lavishly love others and yourself. Seize the day and use that expensive china and make others feel valued because we are not promised tomorrow.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Jesus that You were the greatest example of how I should love unconditionally. Help me as I overcome the world and the hurt that they share so quickly with me. Love them through me!

In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
