Daily Devotional – In God’s Safe Hands

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Deuteronomy 31:3-8. As a God-fearing follower, I believe that God holds not only my life within in His hands, but He holds the whole universe. I submit my will before the throne of the Almighty Lord and ruler.

“The Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the Lord said. And the Lord will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land. The Lord will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

God created the world with words and cares with His hands

As a child of the Lord and ruler of all the universe, I can rest easy within the grip of God. He carries me ever so cautiously and confidently along my life’s path. Over trials and under tribulations, God our Father holds us securely within His hands.

So often when Jesus healed someone on earth, he would touch and anoint them. Not only would His words powerfully reverberate, but His compassionate touch or embrace transmitted His love and caring.

Let us stand tall within the hands of the Lord of all. Stand confident in who God has made and called us to be, knowing that we are worthy to stand justified by the blood of Jesus. Take on all that dares to confront you in the strength gained by being in the safe hands of God!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you for coming to my rescue and picking me up out of the filth that I found myself in. You have cleaned me up and held me close to Your chest to protect and love me. Help me by Your Holy Spirit to remember that I am held by You!

In Your Name,

Amen
