Daily Devotional – A Grace Sufficient For All

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Hebrews 4: 14-16. Grace is the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings. Grace distributed from the throne of God is sufficient and never-ending!

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,^[f] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. ¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. ¹⁶ Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Grace gives us confidence

Many people live life with the fear of disappointing others. Who worse to disappoint than our Father and creator. It is easier to cower and hide away when we have fallen short of God’s calling. Feeling condemned, it is difficult to approach God’s throne at all, nevertheless confidently.

We will always fail according to God’s ways and laws. It is not an excuse to give up, but it is a justification for God’s grace. No matter how many times we fall or return to our sin, God’s grace is there to cover the inequity. God knew when sending Jesus to the cross that it was the only way to fully achieve retribution and have His grace win!

Jesus experienced our lives and struggles. He understands and empathizes with us. We have received forgiveness through the grace of God. No matter who you are, where you are, or have been, you can approach the throne of God. You may be shunned from earthly leaders, but God welcomes you to come and abide in Him!

Dear Heavenly Father,c 

Thank you, God, that You have extended grace. There is nothing greater than your all-powerful grace and forgiveness. Lead and guide me so that I can maximize Your grace and bring You glory today!
