Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 41:10-12. God assures us that we need not fear because He is with us. He is our source of strength and help.
“10 fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
11 Behold, all who are incensed against you
shall be put to shame and confounded;
those who strive against you
shall be as nothing and shall perish.
12 You shall seek those who contend with you,
but you shall not find them;
those who war against you
shall be as nothing at all.”
We can all relate to being fearful at one time or another in our lives. Left unchecked, fear can overtake us and render us powerless. But knowing that God is with us is a game-changer. Of course, there are healthy fears that alert us to possible danger. If a car pulls out in front of us, or our child runs out into the street, healthy fear can be a good thing. But the enemy will try to use a spirit of fear as a tactic to stop us in our tracks.
God is not only with us, but He is our strength. The Lord holds us up in times of trial and tough circumstances. We need not fear or feel alone. God is the never-changing, solid rock that we can depend on. The Lord lifts us up and holds us steady always.
Consider today what you fear, and then remind yourself of how God wants to take that fear and manage it for you!
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
We praise you that we do not have to live in fear. Thank you, Lord, that we can turn to You for our strength and peace. Help us to rest in this knowledge today.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
