Daily Devotional – Earth is Filled By God’s Majesty

daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 1 Chronicles 29:10-14. How great it is to have the scales of sin removed from our eyes. To see God for who He truly is is the greatest revelation. As we look throughout the earth, we will see the glory and splendor of God filling the earth like the train of a robe.

“David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,

“Praise be to you, Lord,
    the God of our father Israel,
    from everlasting to everlasting.
11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
    and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
    for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
    you are exalted as head over all.
12 Wealth and honor come from you;
    you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
    to exalt and give strength to all.
13 Now, our God, we give you thanks,
    and praise your glorious name.

fall scents for your home

14 “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.”

Everything that we have is a gift from God’s hand!

Join in with David as echo his words toward God. Our God reigns earth and all creation from everlasting to everlasting. All-powerful, mighty, and great, God’s reign stretches further than any eye could see. None of us can truly comprehend God this side of death.

As incredible as your pride may convince you that you are, you and I are nothing without God. God’s breath breathes life into our lungs each morning, and He massages our hearts to beat. We wake up each morning not because of anything that we have done, but because of the mercy handed down from the throne of all creation.

Within the hands of God rests all power and strength. Wisdom starts with a fear of God because only as we start to see God for who He is, fear is the only legitimate response and emotion. As God reveals Himself to us, let us remember that He loves us and died for us so that we could have a path to His lap!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

I ask that You peel away the sin formed scales from my eyes. I want to see You for who You are. See You more clearly as I draw nearer to You. As I experience You, help me to more accurately share You with those around me, I know that they will be anxious to meet You!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
