New Cookbook Shows How to Turn Mealtimes into Fun Times

Cookbook author and fitness professional Francesca Pucher releases “Fit Cuisine”

As a fitness professional, Francesca Pucher knows how important it is to eat well, but as a business woman she also knows how difficult it can be to prepare wholesome meals after a stressful day. In her new cookbook “Fit Cuisine: Healthy Food Made Simple” (published by iUniverse), Pucher shows home cooks just how simple and easy it can be to prepare good food that’s also good for them.

Fit Cuisine” goes beyond the low-fat, low-calorie revelry to show readers that by using common, whole foods they can make mealtime more delicious, more enjoyable and less time-consuming.

Pucher, an avid cook, showcases her colorful imagination as she delivers recipe after recipe of simple yet inspired dishes. Each recipe is accompanied by a behind-the-scenes look at how Pucher arrived at the dish, giving the cookbook the feel of an intimate memoir. Pucher also guides readers through recipe variations, allowing for individual taste preferences and dietary restrictions.

“Fit Cuisine” includes nearly 100 recipes in eight categories, including: Quick and Healthy Breakfast Meals, Healthy Soups and Hearty Stews, Healthy Salads and Vegetable Dishes, Healthy and Simple Pastas, Vegetarian and Fish Dishes, Something-Other-Than-Chicken Dishes, Endless Chicken Dishes, and Healthy and Simple Almost-Desserts.

“Growing up in an Italian household, I would watch my mother spend hours in the kitchen,” remembers Pucher. “I began wondering if there was a simpler way to do things with all the flavor and less calories.” This curiosity led to many of the recipes included in “Fit Cuisine.”

“I want to teach people that it is easy to prepare simple, healthy meals with minimal time or worry.”
