Christmas is only less than twenty-five days away, are you excited yet? Think of a joyful get together with your entire family or a quiet celebration with your special someone. Whatever is your way of celebration and whoever you’re celebrating Christmas with, one question remains – what are you wearing?

Other than the festive attire, there’s another way to sparkle amidst all the Christmas lights, by opting for some of the best trends this season. I always speak trend but instead of copying runway looks from head to toe, I highly encourage you to inject your chosen trend to your personal style, adapt it like your own.

Brocade Party Outfits

Revisit the 18th century Rococo art movement and steal Louis XIV’s trade mark style, the baroque and brocade, with its exquisite print, rich texture, gold and metallic embellishment. It’s only one time in a year when you can look like a royal.
Whether it’s to your family’s reunion or to you work’s year end party, swap your blazer and classic trousers with something as glamorous as brocade. If you go for a dress, tone the print down with a nude, black or metallic shoe. If you have the heart to pull off a pair of brocade pants, team them up with a white button down and cap-toe pumps. But sometimes, you can subtly wear the trend through your accessory, say, a brocade hot pink clutch?

The Folklore Theme

Folklore is one of the biggest trend this season. It’s like a bohemian trend for winter. Think dark floral, velvet, and embroidery. Wear a dark floral dress, add a velvet cape over it, then black heels. Or go for a chunky knitted floral sweater teamed with sequined pants and sexy peep-toe pumps. You can also steal the shoe with a folklore red boots paired with a white dress and fur scarf. You are wearing a polished modern folk look.

Jewel Print Trend

From Louis Vuitton to Dior, winter evening wear is rocked heavy with glittery, metal embellishment. There’s nothing as eye catching as a bejewelled dress. Whether you go for a complete embellished dress or a jewel print tunic top to wear with black pants, remember to choose your shoes in color that tempers the look. This trend isn’t for the faint of hearts but remember, this is your once in a life time chance to shine and glitter amidst all the beautiful dresses at the party.

Don’t be afraid to wear these trends. As long as you work it to align with your personal style and you have fun, you’re good!
