Prep Your Body for the Holidays with 5 Easy Cleanses

By Roxanne Oliver−

Detoxification, or cleansing means eliminating toxic substances commonly found in the food and cleaning your kidneys, liver and colon. You can detoxify daily by not eating after sundown, weekly, monthly, or at the turn of each season.

On the other hand, detoxification before the holidays is also common. The holiday food is calorie-laden, fatty, sugary and fried. Everything we should avoid eating. However, we can be forgiven during the holiday season, right?

Pre- and post-cleansing is recommended. Firstly, we cleanse our body from additives, chemicals and pesticides to prepare it for the holidays and then we clean it again afterwards.

General advice on detoxification

You can start with pre-holiday detoxification 1-2 weeks before the holidays.

When it comes to food requirements (since you can detoxify in other ways apart from changing your diet), make sure you opt for organic food only. Do not eat sugary snacks during cleansing. Fruit is only you will need. Additionally, say goodbye to corn, soy and dairy products. Healthy nuts and seeds as well as raw food should be your guidelines.

Here is the list of five easy cleanses, with which you can be sure you will hit holidays with the smile on your face.
