One Scripture That Will Change a Life

Scripture

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, I Corinthians 15:3-4 (NASB)

I was rushing around our home in South Carolina unpacking boxes, directing the movers, organizing closets, and rearranging furniture several days ago when I noticed that the movers had forgotten to unwrap a bookcase in one of my closets.

They had worked very hard and it had been a busy day for all of us. We were ready to see things come to a close. The movers were on the way out when I raced after the men and reported to them that one bookcase still had their blanket wrapped around it. I knew that they would need to put it on the moving van with them. A young man in the group responded quickly, “Oh, I will take care of that for you.”

We walked back to the closet together. As he was untying the cords, he began to ask questions.

“So, I understand you are an author.”

“Yes,”  I replied. “I have written a book and am currently working on another.”

“What else do you do?”

“I am also a Christian speaker.”

He continued probing. He wanted to know about every aspect of my work.
A dear friend, the Bobby, who was helping us out on the front end of the move in NC, treated him kindly and showed him great respect during the upload. He continued, “I have read a lot. I have studied Hinduism, Buddhism, studied the Torah. I have an interest in all religions. I like to learn all I can.”

“Well, that is all okay,” I said, but Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.”

He paused, as if he could not breathe for a moment, and then looked up at me with tears in his eyes.

My life has not gone the way I wanted it to go.”

“Are you ready to change?” I asked. “Jesus will do it for you. All you have to do is believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and the word says that you will be saved. We continued our conversation a few more moments and I asked to pray for him.

Memory and Meditation:

“that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;  for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10 (NASB)

That precious young man said yes to Jesus with just one scripture.

Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Jesus and he just needed the truth.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:6 ( NASB)

My heart leaped for joy. I was so elated. One more into the Kingdom of God!

That young man could have been your son or mine. We have a mission! God had the plan. Will you join with me in kingdom expansion?

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are my Lord and Savior. Please help me to share the Good News everywhere I go. Help me to take your truth into the world. Help me to have fruit for your Kingdom. I as you use me for your glory. In Jesus Name I pray.

Amen
