I have this Wardian Case in my desk in the kitchen and had been searching for something to decorate it with that would be colorful, cute, springlike and for Easter. Two crafts came together to make these little nests.
I took the paper pots you can easily find now in the stores, lace cupcake skirts (found at TJMaxx on clearance), shredded paper that was filling in a package, eggs, blue spray paint and hot glue to make these little nests that I placed in a bed of Spanish moss.
The first thing I did was blow out the egg from the shell. I drew with a pencil swirls and then traced the swirls with hot glue – you can use dimensional paint to do this as well – I then spray painted the eggs. While the eggs were drying I took the lace cupcake skirts and hot glued them to the paper pots.
I then nestled the eggs in the pots and then set them on in the Wardian case.
To the left of the Wardian Case I keep my Bibles always on that corner – I added a candleholder I recently found at Goodwill and a Spring bulb in a McCoy pot.
This is just the first part of the spring update in part of our kitchen. I’ll share with you soon the other things I’ve done – one was a ‘why didn’t I think of that before’ craft project. Almost done with that one!
