How To Treat Skin Rashes Naturally

A skin rash is an occurrence of red bumps on a human body that changes the skin texture. A skin rash can be due to various conditions, from allergies to infections. This article will talk about the natural ways in treating common skin rashes.

Below are ten home remedies for skin rashes:

Olive Oil

  • Extra-virgin olive oil is great as a skin moisturizer; it helps with skin healing and promotes the renewal of the skin since it is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E. It also soothes the skin and lessens itching.
  • Just rub the olive oil or combine equal parts honey and olive oil and apply on the skin rashes daily for a few times until they heal.

Baking Soda

  • Baking soda acts by drying out skin rashes. And, it helps to relieve inflammation and itching related with skin rashes.
  • Combine 3 parts water and 1 part baking soda. Rub the mixture on the affected part. Leave the mixture on the skin for a few minutes before you rinse it. This should be done once a day for a few days.

Oatmeal

  • Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, which make it good for relieving skin inflammation and irritation. It’s great to treat itchy skin rashes due to allergies, eczema, chicken pox, poison ivy and sunburn.
  • First, grind the oatmeal. Combine 1 cup of grounded oatmeal in a warm bath water. Soak your body in the water-oatmeal mixture for about 15-20 minutes. Perform this once a day until the rashes heal.

Aloe Vera

Because Aloe Vera has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal and emollient properties, it is great in treating a few skin conditions like skin rashes. Aside from healing, it is also good for soothing the skin, relieving itching and lessening skin redness.

  • Extract fresh Aloe Vera gel from an Aloe leaf.
  • Rub the gel on the affected part.
  • Leave it on the skin for about 20 minutes, and then wash it off.
  • Do this procedure thrice a day until the skin rashes are gone.

Cold Compress

  • Applying cold compress helps in lessening skin rashes, especially those due to insect bites, shingles, heat and poison ivy. It aids in relieving itching, inflammation and swelling and is very useful if a skin rash develops into blisters.
  • Using a sealed plastic bag, fill it with ice cubes and place the bag on the affected part for a few minutes. Do this for a few times every day for a few days.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Raw or organic apple cider vinegar is also great for treating skin rashes and relieving itching. Furthermore, due to its acetic acid content, it helps in fighting skin infections that may be the cause or worsening the problem.

  1. Using a cotton ball, dip it in the apple cider vinegar and apply on the affected part.
  2. Leave the cotton ball on the skin for a few minutes and then remove.
  3. Repeat this for a few times for a few days until the skin rashes vanished.

Chamomile

  • Chamomile helps soothe the skin, ease itching, promotes healing and reduces inflammation because of its anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties. And it also has antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties.
  • Immerse a clean washcloth in chamomile tea and put in on the affected part as a compress. Leave it on a place for ten to fifteen minutes. Repeat this at least 2-3 times each day for a few days.

Neem

Due to its many properties which includes analgesic, antibacterial, anti-irritant, antifungal and anti-inflammatory, Indian lilac or also known as Margosa or neem is great when it comes to the treatment of eczema, acne, skin rashes, scabies, psoriasis and other types of infections.

  • Boil a few neem leaves in water for fifteen to twenty minutes. Strain the leaves and leave it to cool down. Using a cotton ball, soak it in the solution and then place it on the affected part for at least ten minutes. Repeat this two times a day for a few days.

Calendula

  • Calendula is an herb that is great for relieving skin rashes, irritations, bruises, eczema, ulcers, wounds and dry skin because of its natural antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and astringent properties.
  • Calendula oil should be applied on the affected part and left for a number of Repeat the procedure two times a day until the rashes are healed.

Coriander

  • Coriander is a great Ayurvedic treatment for itchy skin and skin rashes due to its antiseptic, anti-irritant, anti-inflammatory and soothing effects. It also has an invigorating scent that is relaxing and calming.
  • Ground coriander leaves, and with the grounded paste rub it in the affected part. Leave the rub for a minimum of 30 minutes and then rinse it. Repeat this 2-3 times every day for a few days.
