Daily Devotional – Worry About Today’s Concerns!

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Matthew 6: 25-34No matter all that you acquire on this earth in physical things or knowledge will help you when your time is up. We came into this earth and will leave with nothing. Nothing that we own or know can add one minute to our life!

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

fall scents for your home

To follow on from yesterday, your worry and fear have no place here. God’s love has come to drive them out. God takes care of the birds of the sky and the flowers of the fields. You and I, created in His image, are far valuable to Him than these.

It is clear to see how the rest of creation rests in the provision and leadership of their creator for their provision and life. When you go into an unmanaged wildlife area, you see how the circle of life is clearly managed by God.

“We fear, when things that have been elevated above their true importance, start to slip out of our control”

Do not consume yourself with what lies beyond your bedtime. Jesus reminded us that it is best to be present, in the present time. God is in your future and will prepare you with what you need for it.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, God, that you hold it all within Your hands. You are in my past, my present and my future. You gave me the resources to get through the pas and are strengthening me today. I choose to let go of my future and elevate You in my view, knowing that You will give me what I need for tomorrow!

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
