Daily Devotional – Woman of Noble Character Part 2

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Proverbs 31: 19-25. There are many qualities that make a noblewoman. Many of the qualities of a noblewoman are the continued work and sacrifice she makes for her family. However, the noblewoman extends her hand to the community beyond the boundaries of her family.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff
    and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
    for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
    she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
    where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
    and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.

Proverbs 31 is known as the benchmark for a woman. As we consider this scripture, may it not be as a yoke. Be encouraged today to live with a giving heart and spirit each day.

fall scents for your home

The woman described in the Proverb sacrifices and gives much to her family. She gives freely to the community. The woman’s efforts and work create abundance for not only her family but others in the community.

The sacrifice of the woman and her husband has them leading others in the community. As they serve, they lead. Leadership is something assumed through meeting a need!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Lord, that I have the ability to work and apply myself. Help me to see the areas of need in my church and community. Give me the patience as I serve and lead those around me. May You will be glorified through my service!

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
