Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Proverbs 14:1-10. It takes wisdom and understanding to build a house. It also takes planning and strategic actions to have all the resources and tools necessary to complete the job.
“The wise woman builds her house,
but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.

2 Whoever fears the Lord walks uprightly,
but those who despise him are devious in their ways.
3 A fool’s mouth lashes out with pride,
but the lips of the wise protect them.
4 Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty,
but from the strength of an ox come abundant harvests.
5 An honest witness does not deceive,
but a false witness pours out lies.
6 The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none,
but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.
7 Stay away from a fool,
for you will not find knowledge on their lips.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways,
but the folly of fools is deception.
9 Fools mock at making amends for sin,
but goodwill is found among the upright.
10 Each heart knows its own bitterness,
and no one else can share its joy.“
Do you give thought to your ways?
It is easy to make a mistake. Especially if we do not have the experience and training. While it is important to be open to instruction and correction, the most important is how we consider the deep truths within our hearts.
It is easy to portray a mask of strength and confidence to the rest of the world. It is much harder to convince ourselves of anything other than the truth. Eventually, the truth comes out and will catch up with us.
God says that it is wise for us to introspectively look at our actions and motives. Some people find it easy to go through the play by play activities of the day. Others need more practice at it, but we all need to truthfully consider the past and present. It will give us wisdom for the future!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Father, that You provide us the wisdom and understanding needed to live a profitable life. Help us to know Your words and ways today and tomorrow. I desire to walk in Your ways and abide in You!
