Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 139:1-8. Kids love playing hide-and-seek! The excitement of hiding and also finding friends and family is thrilling. I wonder why we try to hide from the ever knowing God?
“You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
God searches deeper than flesh to know our thoughts
It is very easy to become overwhelmed by the lies of our enemy. In isolation, he can attack us with thoughts and lies. It is good to know that our Father and savior knows these thoughts that plague our minds.
The truth from God is that He desires to be our everything. Jesus came to earth to die on the cross to redeem the world and now He works on an individual basis to rescue us. Intricately involved and concerned about every situation that we face, Jesus petitions the throne of God on behalf.
To our rescue comes a legion of heavenly angels. The truth that we need to hold onto is that God is concerned and will come to our rescue. We need to be confident in lighting up the sky with the cry for help. Our bridegroom is on His way to save us!
Let’s Pray
Dear Father,
In Jesus Name,
Amen
