Daily Devotional – The Redeemer Takes Us In

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Luke 15:20-24. Have you ever found yourself in a place where you can not sink any lower? What did it take to bring you to your senses, where you understood that you needed a redeemer?

So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.”

God sees us from afar!

I get choked up every time I see someone turn from their selfish ways. There is nothing more beautiful than when someone gets a glimpse of the Almighty for themselves. Turning from their sinful ways, they seek their Father in heaven and His will.

The redeemer is right there to take over and welcomes each one of us into His presence. So often we hold ourselves back from running towards our redeemer and Father. We convince ourselves that He could not accept us just as we are.

What kind of redeemer saves only those that are perfect? Rather our redeemer is all-powerful and He is able to redeem the most sinful and stubborn individual. The redemption offered through the blood of Jesus is the greatest gift that could ever be given.

Let us not focus on ourselves, but let us focus on our creator knowing that He is waiting on us. He waits patiently for us to choose His love and protection above anything else and our own ways. Let us rest in the welcoming embrace of our Father and redeemer today!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you for patiently waiting on me. I acknowledge today that You and Your ways are in my best interests. I surrender my desires and ideas for today to You and Your plans. Lead and guide me for I am Yours completely.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
