Daily Devotional – Redeeming Love of God

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Hosea 3:1-5. We are the beloved children and creation of the Almighty God. Even though we were born into sin, God has been seeking us with His redeeming love.

“The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes.”

So I bought her for fifteen shekels[a] of silver and about a homer and a lethek[b] of barley. Then I told her, “You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I will behave the same way toward you.”

fall scents for your home

For the Israelites will live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred stones, without ephod or household gods. Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.”

You are the beloved child of Your Father

There is nothing that we could have done to convince God to send Jesus to the cross and die for the sins of the world. Rightfully, there was no reason or justification that we could have used. Our sin covers humanity and is clearly evident when looking around.

God the Father desired that we have a restored relationship and so Jesus was sacrificed for the will of God to be fulfilled. The redeeming love of God was evident in the baby resting in the manger and the savior hanging on the cross.

The heart of our Father beats with love for each of us. He set out to redeem us to Him despite all and any sin that we have committed. Let us surrender to His redeeming love today and accept His mercy and forgiveness.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you for choosing to redeem all of Your creation. I acknowledge that Jesus, as Your son, died upon on the cross to pay the price for me to freely approach You. You raised Him to life so that I can understand Your power to renew me.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
