Daily Devotional – The Church is Faithful

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Luke 16:10-15. Living in today’s society, we live a very privileged life. We have many technological advances that make many chores of life more manageable and timeous.

Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?

13 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

14 The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus. 15 He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight.”

Society does all that it can to avoid hardship

So often when you look around you see people walking away from difficulties. They give up on their hopes and desires, because of some resistance. Every situation is unique and I do not mean to judge you. If you have walked away from something that you hoped for, know that I am not judging you.

I desire to rather encourage you. May you be encouraged today to know that life is a long road and race. I have often had a plan in my mind of how I wanted things to work out. God on the other hand has used different life events and hardships to shape and mold me. As long as you have breath, you have an opportunity to stand up and push on beyond the struggles.

As you continue to stand steadfast and be trustworthy, God will give you a little more.

In our own eyes, we all think that we could change the world for good. We cry that God pours out blessings upon us and our ambitions. No matter how honorable they are, God will work all things for His glory. I have seen God fulfill His desires in my heart in ways that I never would have conceived. Push on, maybe God will fulfill your desires in a different way than you think it should be.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, God, that You use all things for Your glory. You take hard times and times of failure to teach and lead. I release my ideas and ask that You show me Your ways. Receive glory and be glorified through my life!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
