Daily Devotional – Thankful for Salvation

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 12: 1-6. We have been gifted the greatest gift, salvation from our sins and the freedom the oppression associated. Thanksgiving is about all the things that we are thankful for, and today more than ever we stop to say thank you God for our salvation!

“In that day you will say:

“I will praise you, Lord.
    Although you were angry with me,
your anger has turned away
    and you have comforted me.
Surely God is my salvation;
    I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense[a];
    he has become my salvation.”
With joy you will draw water
    from the wells of salvation.

fall scents for your home

In that day you will say:

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
    make known among the nations what he has done,
    and proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
    let this be known to all the world.
Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion,
    for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”

Jesus’ blood that poured out on the cross all those years ago for us paid the price of redemption. His blood saved us from the wrath of God and paved the way for our freedom. Jesus stood in our place and received God’s judgment. He did not say a word but took our accusations and slander.

Today we celebrate the greatest gift that we could ever receive. We say thank you for the lamb that was slain in our place.

God comes to give us comfort as one whose anger has been satisfied. For all eternity, we have the opportunity to draw near and draw from His well of love and grace. Let us speak of our thanksgiving today. Let’s speak of His glory forever!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, God, for sacrificing Jesus for us. Thank you for saving me from all my sins and evil. Help me to shout to all the nations of the world of Your grace, mercy, and love. You alone are worthy of worship and praise, so be glorified today and forever!

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
