Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Philippians 4:4-9. I have a confession to make. I so often try to take control of my life and do things the way that I think is best. Then I quickly wish I had not!
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”

When life is spinning out of control.
So often we wake up to the reality that we make terrible gods. When we force the issue and take the over, we shout out that we do not believe that God is able or willing to lead our lives successfully.
It is the same sin that had them building the tower of Babel. I like to shake my fist at God saying that I know and could do better. Elevating myself about God, I scoff at Him and His plans because I believe that I can do a better job.
God has called us to leave it all in His hands and not be anxious. In His perfect timing, He will bring about His will and His plans. These are plans to prosper and bless us. Let us let go, and let Jesus drive!

Dear Father,
Thank you Father that You are totally in control and graciously lead us. Forgive me for so often thinking that I know best. Take the wheel and lead my life today, and every day into the future.
