Daily Devotional – Take My Life as I Repent

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Luke 13:1-9. Lord, here am I, all of me on the alter of sacrifice. Take my entire life as I repent from my sin, from my flesh and all that has ensnared me in this world.

“Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’

“‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”

All that I have, I give up for my salvation

Repentance is the complete surrender of our will, desires, and ambitions. We need to set aside what we want and what serves our selfishness. Seek the Kingdom of God and bring glory to the King of all kings.

If you desire to live a life that honors and glorifies your creator, then repentance is part of our daily activity. Living with a humble view of ourselves as opposed to the mighty majestic Lord, we will easily surrender our rights for His burden!

Let us choose to repent from our human ways and thoughts and look heavenward for our direction. As we repent, God will draw us unto Him and fulfill us with His love, peace, and hope.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that You had given so much so that I could even be given the opportunity to call upon Your mighty name. Take my life today and lead me according to Your grace and love.

In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
