Daily Devotional – Repentance Prospers Your Soul

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Proverbs 28:12-18. When those that seek their personal gain and glory lead, the world will seem to be in disorder. If we submit our will and lives to the Kingdom of God, order, peace, and prosperity take hold.

“When the righteous triumph, there is great elation;
    but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding.

13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
    but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

14 Blessed is the one who always trembles before God,
    but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.

15 Like a roaring lion or a charging bear
    is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.

16 A tyrannical ruler practices extortion,
    but one who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long reign.

17 Anyone tormented by the guilt of murder
    will seek refuge in the grave;
    let no one hold them back.

18 The one whose walk is blameless is kept safe,
    but the one whose ways are perverse will fall into the pit.[b]”

Your righteous life will protect you!

What will you gain from concealing and attempting to hide our sin and wrongdoing? Our Father up above sees all that we do, and the guilt of our sin will bring our minds, hearts, and lives to their knees. Confessing our sins before God and man opens the door for forgiveness.

If we fear the Lord Almighty, we are sure to recognize our sins and shortcoming. The Bible says that this is the first step in finding wisdom, and wise people bring peace and hope to every situation while avoiding the snares that are created by fools.

Let us repent and seek God with a humble and pure heart and approach Him for His forgiveness. God’s mercy endures forever and His goodness is always steadfast for those that seek Him.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that you protect and prosper those that repent and seek Your will and way. Lead me today by Your Holy Spirit.

In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
