Daily Devotional – Struggling Against the Slow Fade

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Hebrews 12:1-6. It never starts with the overwhelming decision out of the left field. Every action first started as a thought which was fed with hope and attention.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

God Disciplines His Children

In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,

fall scents for your home

“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a]

Are you fading or shining?

In today’s time, most of us live private lives disjointed from everyone else. No one else sees what happens once we step out of the church building or what we do behind closed doors.

When we see true joy and peace on the faces of others, it is not because they suddenly put it on to impress us. This is the fruit of all the prayers that have happened at every hour of the day in the closet or beside the bed. By abiding in God, the Holy Spirit brings forth His fruit and it is easily evident in all that we do.

Let us not wearily give up the efforts and steadfast struggle. What we do out of the sight of others, God still sees. He will bring forth His fruits for all to bring Him glory, stay strong!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you for always being with me. I submit my efforts and fear before Your throne knowing that You will bring about Your good fruit in my life.

In Your Name,
