Daily Devotional – Strength in Peace

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from John 16:29-33. One of the greatest and overlooked blessings from our Father is peace. There certainly is a difference between standing in a peaceful or anxious position.

“Then Jesus’ disciples said, “Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech. 30 Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.”

31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. 32 “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Peace gives us a silent strength.

Before Jesus went to the cross, He encouraged His disciples and all those that followed to have peace. Having experienced a life full of trouble, Jesus knew the importance of peace. Having peace in every situation gives us the soundness of mind and spirit to make good decisions.

In order to stand firm in the faith, we will need to have peace. The peace that Jesus gives us fills us from within and gives us strength no matter the circumstances around us.

Second-guessing any decisions and what our hope is in will only create discourse. It will eat away at our faith in God, who He is, and His promises. Let us receive the peace of God today so that we can stand strong in every situation.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

You have given us peace that is beyond understanding. So often I allow everything around me to succeed in surpassing Your peace. Fill me today with Your peace so that I can make decisions to bring glory to You.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
