Daily Devotional – The Great Savior

daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 18:1-7. The Great I am is our savior. The constant and reliable source of protection and refuge, God is here to save us in every situation.

“I love you, Lord, my strength.

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
    my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
    my shield[b] and the horn[c] of my salvation, my stronghold.

I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
    and I have been saved from my enemies.
The cords of death entangled me;
    the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
The cords of the grave coiled around me;
    the snares of death confronted me.

In my distress I called to the Lord;
    I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
    my cry came before him, into his ears.
The earth trembled and quaked,
    and the foundations of the mountains shook;
    they trembled because he was angry.”

Saved from ourselves and hell.

When we call out in distress and desperation, God hears us. He has promised us that He is always going to be there to rescue us no matter the issue. God saved us from a life without Him and His presence when Jesus died upon the cross.

Not only are we saved from sin and the consequences, but Jesus has promised to save us out of His overflowing love. The Bible often mentioned how Jesus acted out of compassion for those that He met.

Great and mighty is God, but even greater is His attention to us and our situations. Let us never cease to cry out to our God. While we place our faith and hope in God to save us, encourage others to gain strength in the God loves and cares for them.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you that You are the savior of all mankind. I accept Your intervention and saving action as I cry out to You.

In Jesus Name,
