Daily Devotional – Your Life Is In The Red Letters

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Matthew 4: 1-4. Many bibles have the words of Jesus printed in red ink. Jesus came to speak to and testify the truth so that we would be set free. His words bring life and salvation!

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”

Bread or Words

As satan confronted and tempted Jesus after His time of fasting and prayer, Jesus first countered against His hunger. Jesus reminded satan that the words of God that spoke the world into existence, were the same words that held everything in place. The love and compassion enveloped within the red letters of the bible are more than sufficient for our lives.

Jesus spoke of the Kingdom of God during his teachings. He spoke about how we should abide with the Father. Reminded us how to live with each other, and showed His love through His many healings.

What are the best words written in red for you? For me my favorite red-lettered words are Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” While being crucified, He considered us and our lack of understanding. He so willing died at that time, knowing what the outcome would be, even though we were not aware of what we were doing!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, for your wisdom, love, and instruction that You gave us while walking upon the earth. Help me today by the Holy Spirit to apply the words found in the red letters.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
