Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 63:1-11. I am falling on my knees this morning Father crying out to You to fill and satisfy this thirst that I am left with. This world has only left me dry, frustrated, and weary.
“You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
4 I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
6 On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night.
7 Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8 I cling to you;
your right hand upholds me.
9 Those who want to kill me will be destroyed;
they will go down to the depths of the earth.
10 They will be given over to the sword
and become food for jackals.
I need Your love which does not run dry.
Like that woman, I am crawling along the ground between the feet and steps of the crowd. I am desperate, I can not go another day without Your intervention. This thirst has been building for such a long time where I have given all of myself and am completely rung out.
I have tasted and seen Your easy burden, and it makes me wonder why I have been striving so hard. I have expended all that I have and I need to be replenished and filled to overflow with Your spirit. Like water from a deep, deep well washing over me, I will soak all of You up.
Join me today as I surrender and come before our Father. Let us wait not on time dictated by human clocks, but until we are fully filled with the Holy Spirit.
