Daily Devotional – Repent With Outward Demonstration

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Acts 2:34-41. Repentance is the 180-degree change in direction, turning away from our selfish and sinful desires. True repentance is also coupled with an outward demonstration of the internal belief.

“For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
    “Sit at my right hand
35 until I make your enemies
    a footstool for your feet.”’[f]

fall scents for your home

36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.”

Demonstrate your commitment and decision!

Peter instructed those that were convicted of their sins and by the whisper of the Holy Spirit to repent from their sins. While repentance was good, a physical action like being baptized by water would give them the opportunity to demonstrate their decision.

Jesus said that we would be judged by our fruit or the lack of it. The physical realm sprouts forth what lives behind the curtain in the spiritual realm. So every decision made in the spiritual world must have a correlating and supportive physical revelation.

Let us then act out what we believe. Speak with words and actions the love and change that God has done within your heart and soul so that all that you meet will give glory and honor to God your Father.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that Jesus acted on Your love and gave up His life as a sacrifice. Today I commit to living out Your truth and revelations in the physical world.

In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
