Daily Devotional – Purpose No.2

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Romans 13:8-10. Imagine a world where each of us loves one another as intended and instructed by God! The same measure of our love is the measure of the sins committed against others.

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”[a] and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”

You can not sin against someone you love!

You can not say that you love your spouse while having an affair. Love requires action and when the actions do not match the words, well that is called lying. In the same way that our fruits demonstrate our relationship with God, our actions demonstrate the love that we have for others.

God created us with 2 purposes. The first purpose of life is to be found in the presence of God, living, and worship. The second is to love those around us.

Imagine a world where everyone would love in word and action. Life would be so much more enjoyable and fulfilling. There would be such abundance, joy, peace, and harmony!

Let us love others despite their actions toward us. As we break the cycle, we can create an epicenter of love that will spiral out all around us!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you that You are the perfect example of love. I look to You today so that I can learn how to love as You do!

In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
