Daily Devotional – Prayers in Faith for Healing

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from James 5:13-20. Healing is not only available to all that will ask and believe but is the desire of our loving Father. He desires to intervene in our lives and show off His glory and power.

“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

19 My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.”

Elijah’s prayers of faith were miraculous

The floor before the cross and throne of God is level. None of us are more favored or loved than any other by God our Father. Unlike earthly father’s our heavenly Father is perfect and He is consumed by love.

We are as close to God as we desire to be. The more time and faith that we apply toward God and our lives, the closer to Him that we will be. It is not because He has chosen others to receive a more righteous standing or greater blessings.

The Bible is full of God’s word that encourages us to each be the church. None of us have a more superior position in God’s church. The person that fulfills their role will see God’s Holy Spirit flow and work miraculously in their life.

Since God does not value or weigh another’s prayers as more valuable than yours, let us all pray. Elijah was just a human, just like you and I, so we are able to see God move miraculously too. Let us all pray toward the throne of God knowing that He is listening intently to our words.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you that You hear me. The blood and sacrifice of Jesus have opened the way for me to call on You and Your involvement in my life today. Receive my words and act on them as I speak in faith for healing.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
