Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Acts 3:17-23. We have a promise to stand firm upon, if we repent from our sins and ways, God will forgive us. It is not a maybe or a futile act to place our hope and faith in.
“Now, fellow Israelites, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. 18 But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer. 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 20 and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. 21 Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. 22 For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. 23 Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’[a] “
There is freedom and acceptance as a reward to those of us that take God at His word. If you are willing to place your faith and hope in the words and actions of the Almighty, you will receive the healing and victory of His actions.
There has never been one like Jesus to walk upon this earth. He lived the perfect example of love and compassion and followed up with the victorious death on the cross.
Let us listen attentively to the words of Jesus. He came to proclaim the coming of God’s Kingdom. To enter we need to repent and accept His sacrifice and forgiveness.
