Daily Devotional – Miracles of the New Testament 5

daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Matthew 8:1-4. God created us to be 100% in Him and completed by Him. As our sole source and provider, we were created to be satisfied and fulfilled in the presence of God.

“When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy[a] came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

God is most certainly willing!

Due to sin, we have been separated from our Father and creator. Before the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, the chasm between God and His creation was too wide a distance for us to cover. God’s children attempted to purchase redemption each year with the sacrifice of animals.

Our Father did not wish to have us exist without Him. He was not willing to leave us to our own demise, and so He willingly took on His human form. The first step was taken to prove the intention of God, He intended and wanted to restore us to Him.

We do not need to ask God if He is willing to intervene, He has already proven His willingness. Let us take God at His word and accept His desire to love, heal and perform miracles in our lives today.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you that You made the first step and showing Your intention. I place my hope and trust in You because You are willing and able to perform all the miracles that I need.

In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
