Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 2 Kings 5:8-14. As the source of life, God Himself is the one and only that can heal and restore our bodies. If you are in need of healing, God is a sure bet to wait on.

“When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his robes, he sent him this message: “Why have you torn your robes? Have the man come to me and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel.” So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and stopped at the door of Elisha’s house. 10 Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.”

11 But Naaman went away angry and said, “I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage.

13 Naaman’s servants went to him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’!” 14 So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.”

God is a miracle healer

When we find ourselves in need of healing, we tend to be more patient. We wait on a miracle and history-making intervention. We petition God over and over for Him to move in our lives. Desperate for a miracle we hand over allegiance to God for His pity us and grace.

While Jesus walked and brought heaven to earth, people sought Him out traveling days and days to just hopefully get to touch His cloak and receive relief from the pain and hardships of life. How much would we sacrifice to have a face-to-face encounter with the healer of all?

Let us seek out our Father whether we need healing or life with the intensity of those holding on for it. While we pray sincerely when we are desperate, let us look inward to see how desperate we truly are.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you that I stand before the miracle maker. Father while I attempt to live my life void of You and Your life, help me and save me from myself today! You alone are holy and worthy of worship today, and forever!

In Jesus’s Name,
