Daily Devotional – Miracles of the Bible 14

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 1 Kings 13:4-6. There is only one true and living God. The Lord rules overall and will not share His glory with any other. He has said as a warning and instruction to have no other God but Him.

“When King Jeroboam heard what the man of God cried out against the altar at Bethel, he stretched out his hand from the altar and said, “Seize him!” But the hand he stretched out toward the man shriveled up, so that he could not pull it back. Also, the altar was split apart and its ashes poured out according to the sign given by the man of God by the word of the Lord.

Then the king said to the man of God, “Intercede with the Lord your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored.” So the man of God interceded with the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored and became as it was before.”

God will remove all other altars in our lives

We all have a purpose for our lives. God created us for Himself to have communion and relations. One of our responsibilities in life is to come before God in praise and worship. To scream at the top of our lungs Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.

As we seek to worship and love God first, everything else will fade into oblivion. With a corrected perspective, we will remember that nothing compares to the joy that our Father brings us. Nothing will compare to the time spent in the presence of our Father.

Let us not put anything before or above the only true God. Let us seek God’s ways and His truth in every situation today so that we can bring glory to Him.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you that You are the only living God. I am glad that You have opened my eyes to worship and love You. Today I will place You above all else that looks to distract me.

In Jesus’s Name,

Amen
