Daily Devotional – Miracles of the Bible 10

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Number 21:4-9. For those of us that look to the cross and the empty tomb, and acknowledge Jesus as our savior, we will be saved!

They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea,[c] to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way; they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

Then the Lord sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died. The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived.”

Look upon the miracle of the cross

Sin is the root and cause of death. While the Israelites complained at God and caused Him frustration, it is from the sinful heart that the complaints flowed. The snakes may have been what bite the people, but it was their sin that brought the death.

The miracle of physical healing was obtained by looking upon the snake. We have been offered healing, salvation, and freedom by looking upon the cross. All it takes is the faith and understanding that our healing comes from the one who holds all the universe within His hands.

Let us remember that God our Father is our healer. Our Father loves us and wants us to experience healing so much that He gave up Jesus for it. Look upon the cross and claim your healing miracle today!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you that You are the all-powerful God that redeems and heals. I look into the empty tomb and know that Jesus was raised to life to rule over all dominions and powers. In His name and through His sacrifice I have salvation and healing.

In Jesus’s Name,

Amen
