Daily Devotional – Love Keeps it’s Promise

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Deuteronomy 7:7-10. From the beginning, God has been on the side of the oppressed, outnumbered, and weak. God has been there to secure and strengthen those that are willing to acknowledge Him as the only true God.

The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. 10 But those who hate him he will repay to their face by destruction; he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him.”

Jesus loves us despite ourselves

The promise that God gave to Abraham all those years ago continues to be honored by God. After all this time the Almighty has not waivered or walked away from His commitment and oath. Over the years God’s people have walked away from His commands and laws. They have stomped on God’s heart by forsaking Him and serving man-made gods.

fall scents for your home

God’s love for us has continued to reach out to us generation after generation. God rescued the Israelites from Egypt and He rescued them from the kings that they wanted. From the beginning though, the plan was to rescue us through the death of Jesus.

I am thankful that God has never given up on me personally. I have sinned and given Him many reasons to reward my disobedience and hate with His wrath. Jesus knowing of each of our sins, chose the cross. He continues to love us today through His Holy Spirit. You may feel worthy, but you are chosen. Accept God’s love today, and every day awaken with the words on your lips because God is faithful beyond our understanding!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, for choosing us over the cross. Thank You for Your faithfulness by going to the cross to fulfill Your promises to Abraham and every generation. You have never failed me and I lean on Your love and promises!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
